What We’re Looking for?

  • 3-5 years in Operations and/or General Management
  • 2+ years in a high growth start-up business environment
  • Experience in a supervisory role managing an hourly workforce
  • Grocery or retail industry knowledge, with understanding of Detroit’s grocery landscape and consumer preferences
  • Effective communication, someone who can clearly convey ideas, instructions, and feedback
  • Ability to query and analyze data in order to support a quantitative approach to decision making
  • Aptitude for identifying issues, evaluating alternatives, and implementing effective solutions to resolve operational challenges
  • Technical proficiency navigating relevant technologies, software, and tools used in operations and the ability to translate operational feedback back to our engineering and product resources.
  • Understanding of financial principles, budgeting, and cost management
  • A scrappy, “can do” attitude–this job will require everything from interfacing with executives and being an effective ground-level leader.

What You’ll Be Doing?

  • Managing day-to-day operations, supporting our growing team of shoppers and drivers to execute daily and long-term goals in the market.
  • Managing and maintaining performance goals for teams and individuals, monitoring performance metrics, and providing feedback and coaching to improve performance.
  • Continuously reviewing and improving operational processes to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and streamline workflows. Implementing best practices and operational standards
  • Maintaining a customer-centric approach to operations, ensuring products/services meet customer expectations and consistently address customer feedback and concerns.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with partners and vendors; acting as the primary point of contact for in market partners; including top grocery executives
  • Managing operational logistics, effectively allocating resources and deploying labor in collaboration with dispatch and fleet/supply chain
  • Budgeting, and cost management to maximize efficiencies in addition to labor and resource utilization.
  • Providing an operational perspective to teams at HQ to ensure best practices and protocols.
  • Collaborating with the CEO and Head of Marketing to execute market level strategy
  • Working cross-functionally with product, engineering and marketing to help build insanely awesome products and processes that scale efficient and profitable growth
